Have you ever known someone who just couldn’t mind their OWN business? A “busy body” who felt as “General Manager of the Universe” knew just how to handle everyone else’s affairs. I have heard folks tell these people to “mind their own bee’s wax” (aka 'mind your business').
Now, let me say up front I am not talking about Church issues or friends who out of GENUINE CONCERN deal with their brothers in Christ on different issues. What I am talking about here is the person who noses in other peoples "bee’s wax" for the purpose of gossiping, tearing people down behind their backs or “confirming their own superiority” (in other words, “I showed up for this and you didn’t so obviously I am a better Christian” attitude).
For Example: Let’s say there is a Church Event or a Bible Study at the church or something like that… now…
If I knew it was going on and couldn’t come, and YOU knew that I knew about the event… what is the purpose of “confronting me” about it? (you know the question, “so where were YOU?”)- {And I must admit, I am guilty of this one myself...lol...} Only unless you are seeking this information so you can sit back and make some sort of “judgment” in your own mind about how I should be spending MY time? I SAY MIND YOUR OWN BUSINESS. It is sad how often we want to sit back and condemn folks in our minds about what WE think they “ought to” be doing. But how can we be consumed with running everyone else’s lives and ours at the same time? We can’t, plain and simple. If you and I are spending all our time peeking into someone else’s windows then we won’t have time to clean our own house. AMEN!
On the flipside… as long as I am doing what I have to do to PLEASE GOD and as long as I am doing what I believe the Lord would have me to do why should I concern myself with the opinions of those who would only seek to know my business for their own selfish purposes?
Forgive my passion about this subject. If people were more concerned about their OWN service to the Lord, myself included, I believe there would be fewer problems in many churches.
Finally, please don’t read this the wrong way. I don’t mind friends and others who are GENUINELY CONCERNED and inquire about something; HOWEVER, I have only a feeling of disgust for the selfish and insincere inquiry into someone elses business that is judged and condemned in the dark courts of the hypocritical mind. __________________ Achoo...Allergic 2 Stupidity!!! |

I see you and I suffer from the same allergy because I totally feel you on this issue !! I hate when people try to put me on blast and make feel like less of a Christian because I didn't call out at work to make a program. Now I know the bible says " I was glad when they said unto me let us come into the house of the Lord", but it says nothing about the Pastor's auxiliary program and annual women's day. It's one thing to call when someone has missed 3 or 4 Sundays and you want to check on them maybe offer "prayer buddy services" (as I call it) but it is something different to call with that mess we all have been guilty of. I call it the "You Know You Need To" guilt trip. I try not to let it bother me when it is thrown my way but I can't help but think about how this type of behavior turns people away from the church. If someone who is on the fence about turning their life over to Christ sees how we treat each other with so much judgment, then what conclusion do you think they would come to about how we might treat them. So when people try to get in my bee's wax in an attempt to make themselves feel and/or look better I look at it as an opportunity to show how Christians are supposed to carry themselves and take the time to mention to the hater (let's face it that's what they are) just how much damage they are causing to their own witnessing power. __________________ And that's how i feel about it! |

Reply with quote | #3 | I almost feel like I am dipping here, because I don't attend the Grip, but I see this all over and can relate. I do voice work for Grip Radio & Pas RO. I really love what you guys are doing and I know The Grip has a STRONG anointing! I also know that satan wants to steal, kill and destroy anything that God is using. But Hallelujah, greater is He that dwells in us, than he that is in the world, Amen? When we walk in the Spirit (Gal 5) when we are strong in the Lord and in His power, when we have on the FULL Armor of God (Eph 6:10-18), the devil needs to jump back, cause he's gonna get a blackeye if he keeps messing around God's anointed! I get so tired of the mentality that I fall into where I just try to maintain and defend against the attacks of the enemy. I want to be the kind of Christian that satan fears!! I want to become lethal unto the forces of darkness in God power!! Amen? Didn't He say "Greater things than these shall you do in my name?? Glory be to God! our victory CRUSHES the enemy's attacks! I love Pastor RO and I can't wait to come down on my Harley to visit you all this Summer!! I just want to encourage! We have the Armor! We have the provision! Let's put the devil out where ever he rears his ugly face!! Amen.. the trick is smacking the devil off people, without smacking down the people, don't you think?? Well, I am just sharing, I am not meaning to be on a soap box.. lol
Blessings. NICE FORUM!! __________________
